Call to Arms: Boycott all products advertised during Formula 1 races from next season!

 "Dear Murdoch,

We don't want F1 races interrupted by constant TV commercial advertising. If you must show ads, show them in a small box in the corner of the screen, but we don't want to miss any of the race.

So, starting next season, until the ads are removed from a mid-race airing we are going to boycott any brands or products that decide to show their ads during any F1 race.

That is all.".

I have created this facebook group for people like me, who are extremely pissed off by Sky getting Formula 1 rights from next season. Please signup if you intend to take part in the boycott as well.

DOT DOT DOT Animated

Browsing Newgrounds occasionally throws up some surprises, and this is definately one of them.  This is a typographical animation based on a voice track which was based on a newground user's review of another Newgrounds' Flash game called "Super PSTW Action RPG", a kind of cheesy game where all you have to do to win is press space.  The animation contains all the spelling mistakes of the original review.

And this brilliant animation has made it to Number 1 of all time submissions to Newgrounds!  Fantastic!.

Check it out here:

Cage Against The Machine

This campaign is to get JOHN CAGE'S 4'33'' (4mins 33secs of silence) to XMAS Number 1 2010

You can get the track free from here, money goes to charity, and it still affects the chart. Here's how:
1) register or log in at http://www.mflow.com/
2) click on your name in the top right of the screen
3) on the drop down menu click 'redeem code'
4) Type in XMAS to the redeem code box-it then puts £1 credit in your account
5) Search 'Cage Against The Machine' and click on the tracks tab, and buy the top one with the free credit. It's the one that says: 4'33' (Cage Against The Machine Version) by John Cage

Edit: It got to number 21, with 16k sales... Not bad considering it had 90k likes on facebook! sigh.. :S

A great gaming netbook at LAST (Asus Eee PC Seashell 1215N)

I've had the Asus EeePC 1215N Seashell netbook for a couple of months now, but I've only just discovered what an incredible machine it really is.  This netbook has a 12.1 inch screen, a dual core Intel atom 1.8ghz processor, 2gb ram as standard, and for little more than 300 quid I've been playing 2D games like the excellent Altitude, and Worms Reloaded quite happily.  My initial tests on 3D games like Trine, proved pretty average.  But today out of curiosity, updated the bios using Asus's built in updater program, and got some new graphics drivers off NVidia's site. Here: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/notebook-win7-winvista-260.99-whql-driver-uk.html

Since updating the graphics drivers, GTA 3 worked fantastically at native (1366x768px) resolution, I then installed Civilization V and Toca 3, which ran superbly.  Racedriver Grid, ran pretty well albeit at low resolutions, and best of all, Colin Mcrae's Dirt 2 runs at 20fps+ at 800x600 resolution.  The dual core processor even handled recording my crashes in-game!

Next up: Modern Warfare 2!
